Repair Procedure

Warning

If the device is student-owned, any Out Of Warranty part replacements must be approved by the parent.

Perform the following steps in order, if possible. After each step, check if the issue has been resolved. Only send to the District Office if these steps don’t resolve the issue.

  1. Scan device Serial Number into UMC2
  2. Check for existing open ticket
  3. Open New Ticket if necessary, providing any issue details
  4. Check Warranty Status
  5. Check the indicator icon on the Ubermix taskbar, on the right
  6. Check BIOS Settings and Check Ubermix Version
    1. Update BIOS (Universal) and/or Install/Update Ubermix if not the latest version
    2. Factory Reset if version is current
  7. Check for missing and loose screws, and replace or tighten as needed
  8. Check hardware connections/connectors
  9. Replace parts if necessary
    1. If device is student-owned and Out Of Warranty, check if new part will fix the issue prior to requesting approval. If repair is not approved, leave the old part in and return device to Media Center for return to student.

Determining Repair Cost

  • All Out of Warranty repairs are considered chargeable (Please see Warranty Coverage above to see details)
  • Physical damage, such as cracked plastic or screen, is chargeable (Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis by Administration)
  • Liquid damage is considered to be physical damage, and is charged accordingly
