LVUSD Tech Team Troubleshooting Guide

This guide outlines common issues with the Acer B115, Acer B117, and Acer B118 laptops and their possible solutions. Please note that replacing parts is usually a last resort as most problems originate in software. This document will be updated as new problems and solutions are uncovered.

Repair Procedure

Before you start a repair, you should always check the Ubermix version and BIOS version to make sure they are up to date.

In addition, if the laptop boots up, check the indicator icon on the right-hand side of the menu bar. This will give you information about the laptop, such as battery capacity, trackpad model, Ubermix and BIOS versions, and Chrome and Firefox update status.

Warranty Coverage

Acer’s 1 Year Warranty Does Not Cover: Damages caused by misuse, abuse, accidents, fire, theft, disappearance, misplacement, fluctuations and power surges, connections to improper voltage or incorrect electrical line voltage, viruses, malware, reckless, willful, or intentional conduct.
